A girl has to work with what she has- the objects around her and her own natural beauty. Part of a series I painted of “birds with crowns”- the avian version of haute couture. I had lots of fun with this series- this ostrich was heavily inspired by the runway shows of Alexander McQueen who adorned women with feathers and nests- much more appropriate for this fashionista. A fun piece for a feminine bedroom or as part of a series, hanging with “Flamingo with Fruit Basket” and “Emu with Hornet’s Nest.”
