An African gemsbok relaxes against a terra cotta background decorated in swirling golds and lapis blue accents. He is painted in warm whites, grays and black and his face is highlighted with purple and gold, as are his sweeping horns. He is part of my “Wallpaper” series, and also part of a commissioned three-piece set of African animal paintings which also includes “Meerkats” and “African Wild Dogs.”
